Wages & Benefits
Hours, Payroll & Pay
A total of 80 hours per two-week pay period is guaranteed (according to the employer’s policy).
Most employers pay weekly; some may process biweekly payroll.
In your first and last week, you might not reach 40 hours depending on actual start/end dates.
Paychecks may be issued one week in arrears (“paid in arrears”).
Timekeeping & Overtime
You must follow the clock-in / clock-out system to record the exact hours worked.
Overtime is paid at time and a half (1.5x), in accordance with applicable law and the employer’s policy.
If you accept leaving early at a manager’s request, you may lose part of your guaranteed hours for that pay period. Always confirm with your supervisor before leaving.
Absences, Closures & Weather
Sick leave is typically unpaid, and employer closures due to hurricanes or other force-majeure events are usually unpaid unless the club’s policy states otherwise.
It is your responsibility to track your clocked hours daily.
Taxes & Deductions
Depending on your visa and tax status, deductions may include: Social Security (FICA), Medicare, federal income tax, and, where applicable, state and local taxes.
Deductions are automatically withheld from your paycheck.
